Sub-Zero Appliance Repair is an independent repair company based in Van Nuys that focuses on premium kitchen appliances. Many of our calls involve Sub-Zero refrigerators, freezers, and wine storage. We also service Viking, Wolf, and Thermador ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, warming drawers, and range hoods. These appliances are built differently from standard models. They use dual refrigeration systems, precise burner and simmer controls, and custom panels that need careful handling during service. Every visit starts with a diagnosis. We explain what we found and lay out the repair options before any work begins. If a repair doesn't make sense for the age or condition of the unit, we tell you. The San Fernando Valley runs much hotter in summer than neighborhoods near the coast. That heat puts extra load on refrigeration, so we check condenser airflow and cleanliness on refrigeration calls. Common questions
Do you only repair Sub-Zero appliances?
No. Sub-Zero refrigeration is a large part of our work, but we also repair Viking, Wolf, and Thermador appliances, including ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, dishwashers, range hoods, microwave drawers, warming drawers, and outdoor grills.
Are you affiliated with Sub-Zero or the other brands?
No. We are an independent repair company. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Sub-Zero, Viking, Wolf, Thermador, or any other manufacturer.
My Sub-Zero refrigerator is running warm. What should I check before calling?
Make sure the doors close fully and the gaskets aren't torn or folded. Confirm the temperature settings haven't changed, and listen for the condenser fan running. A dusty condenser or blocked grille is a common cause, especially during hot Valley summers. If the unit still isn't cooling, move perishables to a cooler and call us.
What information should I have ready when I contact you?
The brand, the model and serial numbers, and a short description of the problem. Include any error codes, sounds, or recent changes. The model and serial tag is usually inside the refrigerator compartment, along the oven frame when the door is open, or on the dishwasher door edge.
Is it worth repairing an older built-in appliance?
Often it is, because premium built-in appliances are designed to be serviced and replacing them can mean cabinetry work. That depends on the unit's condition and what has failed. After the diagnosis, we explain the options so you can decide.
Do you repair ice makers and wine coolers?
